Book Overview

We are living through a pivotal point in human social evolution. Many constraints that used to be certainties are being successfully challenged. What has been accepted knowledge about the brain for four hundred years is being re-examined due to the work and courage of some amazing scientists in the field of Neuroscience.

If you manage or interact with people, particularly people who use their brains for a living - knowledge workers, you need to understand the impact this updated knowledge has.

You do not have to understand the deep mathematics, the complex psychology or the medical terms in order to start working with what neuroscientists are telling us. The message is clear and the working knowledge they share is for everyone.

Every area of human existence is being affected by this new knowledge. Everything that every person does will benefit from the understanding that it is bringing.

Managing Knowledge is the second volume of the Trousers of Reality. It explores Neuroscience and shows what can be done to use NLP, Agile and similar methods as an effective framework to bring these breakthroughs into daily life, project management and interpersonal communication.

I have provided internet links throughout the book as suggestions for jumping off points for further investigation.

The first part of the book discusses recent discoveries in neuroscience and epigenetics and their implications in understanding human behaviour.

The second part of the book discusses where these discoveries intersect with epistemology, logic and philosophy and what that tells us about consciousness and communication.

The third part of the book looks at how we can use this knowledge to train our creative and critical faculties to connect to what we find fulfilling.
